Director of Operations
As Director of Operations at GridStor, Karl leads Grid Operations, Field Services, Performance Engineering, and
Operations Engineering for GridStor’s utility-scale energy storage portfolio. He brings more than 20 years of
experience in power generation, with a focus on renewable energy operations, operational technology (OT)
systems, control center operations, and energy management systems supporting large-scale renewable energy
assets across the United States.
Prior to joining GridStor, Karl held operations leadership roles at Avangrid Power, where he oversaw OT
infrastructure, EMS/SCADA integration, cybersecurity, and control center operations for a large renewable
generation fleet. His experience includes leading engineering and operations teams, managing enterprise-scale
data and control systems, and supporting the reliable and efficient operation of critical energy infrastructure
