Senior Vice President of Finance, Head of Capital Markets
As Senior Vice President of Finance and Head of Capital Markets at GridStor, Spencer oversees the company’s financing strategy and investor partnerships. He brings more than 20 years of experience in capital management, including over a decade in renewable energy finance spanning distributed generation and utility-scale solar and wind projects across the United States.
Before joining GridStor, Spencer co-founded and served as Executive Vice President of Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company, where he helped grow the firm to 3.5 GW of clean energy capacity and more than $3.4 billion in assets under management. Over his career, he has led or supported more than $5 billion in financing and capital markets transactions across debt, tax equity, and structured investments. Earlier in his career, he held investment and lending roles at Deerfield Capital Management and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Spencer holds a BS in Economics, magna cum laude, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
