Hidden Lakes Reliability Project

Building Energy Reliability in Galveston County

At every stage, from technology selection and engineering to construction, operation, and emergency preparedness, GridStor prioritizes the safety of our facilities and our neighbors.

Batteries strengthen U.S. infrastructure

Electricity is central to everyday life. Americans need reliable electricity more than ever to heat and cool our homes, grow our businesses, and communicate with each other. GridStor develops, owns, and operates utility-scale battery energy storage systems to support a stable power supply around the clock.

Committed to Galveston County

GridStor is working closely with the local fire department on facility design, construction, and emergency response training before operations begin.

GridStor will construct California Avenue, a public road, at no cost to Galveston County residents. Construction vehicles will access the site via California Avenue from FM 646.

Traffic control will be implemented on FM 646 to maintain safe access in/out of project site and minimize road delays during construction.

Similar projects are operating in Galveston County, including 10MW sites in Dickinson and League City, and a 100MW site in Angleton, offering examples of the technology despite different ownership and design.

The Hidden Lakes Project has been carefully sited adjacent to existing local electric infrastructure and the communities that need it most.

The facility will increase regional grid resilience, reducing the risk of blackouts during high demand.
